About the K1 visa
The K1 visa is issued to fiancés/fiancées of American citizens who wish to get married in the USA, and eventually get their permanent resident status (Green Card).
To qualify for this visa, the couple must be legally free to marry (i.e. single, divorced, or widowed) and have met in person at least once within two years of filing for the visa.
